MocPOGO GPS Location Accuracy Slider Guide: Choose the Right Precision

With MocPOGO, you can change not only your GPS location but also the level of precision the system sees.

Location data isn’t just a pin on a map. Every coordinate comes with a radius that tells your iPhone how trustworthy that point is. The Accuracy Slider is your tool to adjust that radius. Let’s break down what it actually does.

What the Accuracy Slider Does

Within Apple’s maps system, every location record contains latitude, longitude, and a third parameter named accuracy.

This value tells your iPhone: “Your estimated location is probably somewhere within this radius.”

In other words, the system doesn’t take your coordinates as gospel. It treats them as a center point, and the accuracy value defines a circle of uncertainty around it. The smaller the circle, the more precise your location appears; the larger the circle, the vaguer it seems.

This slider adjusts the location confidence sent to your iPhone:

Setting What it tells the system When to use it
5 m “I’m very certain, within 5 meters of this point.” When you need pinpoint precision, like checking into a specific venue.
25 m (default) “My location is roughly within this range, not precisely pinpointed.” The safe, natural choice for everyday use. Most real GPS signals fall in this range.
500 m “I’m in this general area, but I’m not very certain.” For apps that only need a city-level approximation, or to add natural variation.

When to Use Smaller and Larger Accuracy Values

Choosing the right value isn’t about better or worse. It’s about matching the accuracy to what the app expects and how natural you want your location to appear.

Smaller accuracy values (5–25 m)

Use these for most daily situations. For example, if you want an app to think you’re at a particular café, setting a smaller accuracy value makes the system trust that coordinate more strongly. The app will treat your location as highly reliable and act accordingly, whether that’s showing you a menu, checking you in, or offering location-based recommendations.

Larger accuracy values (100–500 m)

Some apps have anti-spoofing detection. If they always see the same accuracy number (e.g., always 25 m), it looks unnatural. Real GPS readings fluctuate constantly based on satellite visibility, weather, and indoor conditions.

By changing it to 100 m or 200 m, your location appears more like a real GPS output. This helps you avoid triggering detection mechanisms while still staying roughly where you want to be.

Summary

The Accuracy Slider controls how confident your iPhone is about your reported location. The smaller the number, the more convinced your iPhone is that you are exactly at that coordinate point. The larger the number, the more the iPhone treats your location as being somewhere nearby.

For everyday use, keeping the default 25 m works perfectly fine.
